Estimator/Contract Administrator
Residential Construction
Our client is a highly respected, centrally located Adelaide based building company specialising in the design and construction of up-market homes and major extensions.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the appointee will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for the company’s construction projects, processing of variation orders, and the letting of contracts to suppliers and sub contractors.
The person we are seeking must have previous experience in estimating and contract administration in the residential construction sector, an excellent knowledge of residential construction techniques as well as good communication and negotiation skills.
You will have a proven track record in liaising with architects, supervisors and sub contractors as well as the general manager. You will have expertise in interpreting plans and specifications, creating BOQ’s, preparing takeoffs from plans and negotiating with suppliers.
You will be computer literate having excellent numeric and analytical skills and show an ability to create and use business systems that are efficient and beneficial to the business’s operation. It is essential that you have proven experience in estimating, at least several years, with an excellent knowledge of the residential construction industry and building techniques as well as proven success with your communication and negotiation skills.
The appointee will be the principal estimator for the company therefore he/she will enjoy a high level of autonomy and be offered a remuneration package at the top end of market rates.
