Senior Projects Engineer
Local Government Infrastructure
We are pleased to recruit for this well known council servicing a city renowned for its cultural diversity, vibrant cosmopolitan atmosphere, tree lined streets, beautiful parks and gardens and unique heritage architecture. It has an ambitious program of infrastructure renewal and upgrade works in addition to its regular planned maintenance programs. This position is based in the council’s modernised premises and located in one of Adelaide’s popular dining and shopping precincts.
Reporting to the Manager City Services and with the support of team members, your primary responsibilities will be to:
Manage & co-ordinate the delivery of civil infrastructure works, including capital road, footpath and drainage projects.
Manage & co-ordinate the successful delivery of building projects.
Manage & co-ordinate the delivery of other special projects of a construction nature, including open space and recreational asset upgrades.
Develop contracts and agreements for the development, construction and maintenance of the Council’s assets
To be successful in this role you need to be computer literate, have tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a construction discipline, comprehensive knowledge of public works construction both civil and building including legislative regulations, contract administration and project management skills. Above average communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills are also key requirements of this position.
